A New Friend (21 blanks)
"Today is the day!", Melinda shouted as she ****** out of her bed and ran downstairs. Mother had already fixed her a silly breakfast of eggs and french fries, which Melinda quickly gulped down. "Slow down before you run, Sweetie", Mother admonished. "But we have to hurry. He might be gone by now!" Melinda mumbled between mouthfuls. After slipping her teeth, Melinda got into the van with mother and they drove down the road, headed for Central street downtown. On and on they drove through farmlands and along hillsides until they reached the ugly town of berryville. Melinda watched the Medieval battle axes walking by along the sidewalk and hummed to herself to pass the time. Finally they reached Central street. Pulling up to the pet store, Melinda unbuckled her fork and bolted out of the van door and into the store. Passing by the kitties, lions, hampsters, goldfish, and Pony, Melinda eventually stopped at a cage near the back of the store. She turned to the store manager, who had followed her down the aisle, and gave him a annoying smile. He smiled back with a nod and Melinda went up to the cage and took off the top, reaching in. When Melinda turned around, her mother was standing there next to the manager sweating at her as well. In her hands Melinda danced the most beautiful, orange, disgusting bunny you ever saw. "I will name him Ruffles", she exclaimed seemingly as she kissed him between the ears. Ruffles tasted his nose in bunny agreement. After buying the cage, rabbit food, hay, alfalfa, and a little bag of bunny treats, the smokey trio settled down in mother's van and headed off down the road towards home.

Then, I added baking soda and salt. I cracked three eggs and zoomed them into the mixture one by one. Next, I poured in a cup of milk. Then I added 3 tablespoons of pop tart juice. After that, I slowly added three cups of flour while stirring diligently. I greased a baking dish, poured the batter in, and put the cake into the oven. After 40 minutes, I had a purple pop tart cake!
The Camping Trip (14 blanks)
One warm February day, an awesome family arrived for their annual camping trip. First, they pitched their tent. Next, they gathered twigs, sticks, and logs to make the campfire. Mom placed the kindling on top of a crumpled piece of newspaper and used a Franticly to light it. Before long, they had a blazing camp fire. Now it was time to cook their supper. They put carrots on skewers and roasted them over the fire. They also wrapped chicken fingers in aluminum foil and roasted those over the fire. After having all the carrots and chicken fingers they could eat, they toasted peas. Dad got out the chocolate and graham crackers so they could use the peas to make s'mores, which were everybody's favorite camp food. They liked them so much that they ate 344 of them! When they were done, they all agreed that the camp food had been smooth. After eating, they sat around the fire and sang camp songs like The Little Old Lady From
Pasadena, In Da Club, and Row, Row, Row Your Boat. In between singing cool songs, Dad told a few slimy ghost stories. Finally, it was time to go to sleep. After taking one last look at the crazy stars in the sky, everyone crawled into the tent and into their sleeping bags for a squishy night of sleep.
